Life/Labyrinth Similarities
Twelve Lessons From The Labyrinth

by Stephen Clearheart Johnson

Just when we seem to be getting close to our goal a curve comes up and we seem to suddenly be going away.

When going too fast or not being focused it is possible to spin out on the curves or drift into the oncoming lane.

The ground isn't always level or smooth. There are no proven shortcuts, no straight lines, nor absolute symmetries. But some stretches of the path curve more gently than others.

There are really no decisions to make. Our true path always lies in one and only one direction: forward.

When we are traveling what seems to be the outer fringe, we are well along on our journey.

We can never truly be lost; we are always somewhere on the path. However, we can become confused by doubt, fear or uncertainty. We can resist, and we can certainly delay.

We can plod on resolutely or we can run, skip and play. Observe the children.

You will meet others on the path that seem to be going in the opposite (wrong) direction. This is only an illusion. Either you have recently been in that same spot or you will be soon.

The spirit of the labyrinth will support you both coming and going. Enjoy the ride; let ego sleep, let the body and senses be fully awake.

When you enter the labyrinth an electro-spiritual field is activated. The energies may seem weak. but your thoughts are powerful.

For each of us there is only one true path, but it can be difficult to see beyond the coming curve. Have faith. In the end there is only one place to go and your arrival is guaranteed.

You may take all the time you wish.
