Bon and Jim Fillpot -- Fillpot Photographic Art
Jim and Bon Fillpot merged their photography and art backgrounds over
30 years ago and became Fillpot Photographic Art.
Award winning, past and present members of Professional Photographers
of America, they share their love of portraiture and scenic photography.
Jim and Bon owned and operated a full time portrait studio for 22 years.
Bon now concentrates on creating beautiful story telling portraits,
spending hours with her clients before and during the portrait session
to capture a moment to be cherished forever. Hand-oiled canvases
and story book albums complete the portrait collection.
She also offers specialty black & white portrait editions.
Their approach to floral photography is treated with the same care
and intensity as their portraits. Lighting, composition, repetition
in form, texture or color and background are all a part of creating
an image of fullness, depth and interest. One must be able to
see the light to create a work of art.
During their 30 plus years together, Jim and Bon have collected
scenic images along trails they have backpacked, cross country
skied or back country roads they have traveled down, mainly in
Colorado. Floral art is created on location from the mountains
to the gardens. They prefer their flowers to be captured where
they bloom, using nature's light, in true plein aire tradition.
The Fillpots explore the relationships between form and colors,
bringing their flowers to life. Their work projects precision and
a softness to make one wonder whether they are photographs or water colors.
In a sense they are both.
Bon artistically enhances the photographic art using fine oils
on her canvas portraits or painting by hand digitally, bringing
the best of two worlds together, photography and fine art.
The Fillpots have a unique artistic photographic style. Their portraits
and scenics are proudly displayed in homes and businesses across the United
States, Hawaii, France and Japan.
